Ever since I was little, I knew that I aspired to be a doctor, but what I did not know was that it would require a professional degree and had no idea what it was in the past. Luckily enough for me, all of that will change.
Luckily for me I had an uncle who was also a doctor, and he was able to help me regarding what would be expected from me in order for me to be able to take medicine.

There are plenty of students who do not begin planning their careers early enough in life. They breeze through high school without ever really paying attention to what they are learning or in taking advantage of those opportunities that present themselves and that can help them in getting into the career field of their choice. It is quite unfortunate that more kids are not planning early on about what careers they are interested in and what needs to be done in order to start off.

Because I knew what I wanted to be when I was older, I made use of everything that I learned in high school. I made certain to take every math and science courses available at my high school and to keep my grades up for advanced placement courses, and I also was accepted into summer programs like the John Hopkins program that allowed students to take courses specifically tailored to their interests.

The amount of time and knowledge that goes into training someone at this level means that we are worth more (from a financial point of view). Plenty of information is stored into the heads of doctors, and the more we can practice or specialize, the more valuable we are to our patients and to our professions.

Just because I am currently a practicing physician does not mean that I can slack off. I have to continually keep up my learning and take continuing education courses in my field to keep up my certifications and maintain my license. It’s not easy, but I can honestly say that I love my job, and that is one of the important things to consider before you start studying for a specialized degree. Without the passion for your chosen path, such as becoming a nurse, doctor, accountant, or teacher, your time and training may go to waste, and then where will you be then? Slogging to work every day to do a job that you can’t stand? No one should have to live like that. And no patient or client should be subjected to working with someone who doesn’t absolutely love what they have been called on to do in life.

Yes, it is very important to know that you want to work in a particular field before you begin taking courses towards it, but once you are certain that it is the work you want to do, getting a professional degree in that particular field will entail that you learn everything that is necessary for you to do what it is that you love.
